Is This the Future?
Removing the human element of engineering is a bad idea. Humans have intuition and can learn from mistakes. While the means of building the sculpture seemed to be effective, it was simple demonstration and not a practical real world application. We do feel that the precision measurement tools could definitely be used to increase construction accuracy. To engineers in particular, this is a scary thought because it could mean the potential loss of jobs. Overall, our group feels that this is related to intelligent building, however it is a far fetched idea.
